Camels Rock!
Camels have many characteristics that help them survive in the desert. Camels have VERY VERY LONG eyelashes that keep sand out of the camel's eyes, thick eyebrows to keep the sun out of their eyes and closable nostrils (ewwwww? You wish you were that cool...) to keep the sand out of their nose. They can also drink a lot of water at once, 46 litres at once and they can last for more than a week without it afterwards and more than a month without food. Their humps contain fat so camels can burn the fat there for energy. The hump does NOT contain water! Camels can also change their own body temperature to suit their needs as the weather changes so they don't waste water by sweating in high temperatures. Their huge and wide feet help them walk on sand without sinking their hooves into the sand. There are still many more characteristics that you can find, but one more being their thick lips. They have thick lips so they can eat prickly plants without feeling pain.
